Teen Love Triangle Turns Deadly in Pune: 19-Year-Old Arrested for Double Stabbing in Chakan

PUNE, JUNE 2025 — In a tragic escalation of teenage rivalry and emotional turmoil, a 19-year-old youth has been arrested for fatally stabbing a 16-year-old boy and seriously injuring another teenager in Chakan, near Pune. The accused, driven by jealousy and anger over a girl he allegedly had feelings for, carried out the brutal attack with a knife in a chilling display of premeditated violence.

The Incident: A Fatal Confrontation

According to investigators from the Chakan Police Station, the incident occurred late Sunday evening in the Alandi-Phata area, a semi-urban stretch on the outskirts of Pune. The accused, whose identity is being withheld due to legal reasons, reportedly lured the two teenagers—aged 16 and 17—to a secluded field under the pretext of resolving a personal conflict.

Instead, he attacked both victims with a sharp knife. One of the boys was fatally slashed across the neck, dying on the spot due to excessive blood loss. The other sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

“The accused had developed resentment towards the younger teen due to his growing closeness with a girl both were involved with,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Milind Gawde, who is leading the investigation. “This appears to be a case of intense emotional rivalry that spiraled into horrific violence.”

Swift Police Action and Arrest

After receiving a distress call from locals who heard screams, police reached the crime scene and launched a manhunt. With help from CCTV footage and mobile location tracking, the accused was apprehended early Monday morning while hiding in a friend’s house in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

He has since been charged under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), and 34 (common intention). The murder weapon has been recovered, and the accused has reportedly confessed during interrogation.
